Troubleshooting

Logging in is easy, but you need a little information from your instructor first.
  • Visit http://login.keyboardingonline.com
  • Enter your school login and password and hit enter
  • *HINT* Your school login and password are usually the same.
You should now be logged in and ready to go.  Please remember, the school login and password are probably not the same username and password you use for things at your school.  If you forget your password, contact your teacher.

This is caused by using an older version of the browser.  We still recommend Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox, but this program will work on Internet Explorer 9 and above.  If you are using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox and the program is not loading, click on Help in the menu and click on About to see the version of the program you are using and see if there is an update available.  Most often, an outdated browser would cause this issue since the technologies that we use are fairly new and perfect for the application itself.

On Windows, no matter what browser you are using, hold down: Ctrl+Shift+Delete.

This will pop up a window asking what you want to delete, and what time frame if you are using Firefox or Chrome.

If you are using Chrome, select "since the beginning of time" from the drop down, and then ensure Cached Images and Files are checked and clear the cache.  After the cache is cleared you can go back to the tab with the application and press Ctrl+F5 to do a hard refresh.

If you are using Firefox, select "Everything" from the drop down, and then ensure Cookies, Cache, and Offline Website Data is checked and clear the cache.  After the cache is cleared you can go back to the tab with the application and press Ctrl+F5 to do a hard refresh.

If you are using Internet Explorer, simply ensure Temporary Internet files and website files is checked AND Cookies and website data is checked, and then click Delete.  After the cache is cleared you can go back to the tab with the application and press Ctrl+F5 to do a hard refresh.

If you are using Mac OSX, it is a similar pattern.

In Safari on a Mac, go to Preferences, Privacy, and click the button to clear All Website Data.  After the cache is cleared you can go back to the tab with the application and press Apple+R or Command+R to do a hard refresh.

In Firefox on a Mac, hit Command+Shift+Delete, select "Everything" from the drop down, and then ensure Cookies,
Cache, and Offline Website Data is checked and clear the cache. After the cache is cleared you can go back to the tab with the application and press Apple+R or Command+R to do a hard refresh.

Now the cache is cleared from the system and the browser and the program should be running the latest version.

You definitely can, but the pricing will not be the same.  K-12 site license for 25 users is $149/yr with a 2 year minimum purchase.  If you would like to order a single year, you can, but the pricing is $199/yr.  For a single year, the price is +$50.00 more than the 2 year pricing.

After we get a purchase order, it can take up to 24 hours (1 business day) for us to process the order completely.  After it is processed, we will email the instructors the login information for the school and they will be able to login and start creating classes and students.

If more than 24 hours has passed and you haven't heard from us, please call us and we can check the status of your order.

If this is your first time visiting the site, welcome!  We look forward to doing business with you.  We offer a free 60 day trial of our program that you can use with your class to try out our software (http://www.keyboardingonline.com/freetrial.php).  This will help you get familiar with our products and give you an idea which program will fit your curriculum best.

Once you know what product you would like to order, you can contact us for an official quote (sales@ellsworthpublishing.com) or download an order form (http://www.keyboardingonline.com/pricingpolicies.php).

As always, you can contact us with any pricing and ordering questions you may have.

No, your data is safe and what we will do is basically extend your 60 day trial period into the full 2 years (or however long the licensing period is).  The login information, classes, and student files will all be the same.

We usually send out emails with links in them for scheduled web meetings.  By clicking those links, you will automatically join the web meeting.

For troubleshooting issues, when we set up a web meeting with you to help diagnose or fix an issue, we will usually have you visit http://www.joingotomeeting.com or http://www.meetmenow.com.  You will then be prompted for a meeting ID and you will be good to go!

You can only manually delete scores one by one in the View Student Progress > Simple Progress Report > Right click on the score > Select Delete.

Many teachers have often asked why they can't delete an entire semester's worth of scores.  The reasoning behind this is that if we had a button somewhere to do that, there will inevitably be a teacher who accidentally clicks that and loses the scores for their entire semester.  We want to help avoid the major headache that would cause for the teacher and us trying to figure out a way to solve the problem.

So the next best thing we can do to delete all the scores is to basically delete and re-add the students.  There is a very easy way to do this.
  1. In the teacher manager, go to Class Manager and select the class whose scores will be deleted.
  2. Click the "Export Class" button on the right hand side and save the file in a easy-to-find location.
  3. Now create a new class where you will be re-importing the students.
  4. Go to "Create Student Files", and click the "Import" button under the "Import Student From List"
  5. Find that file you just exported, select it, and click "Open"
  6. Now you will see the first student appear in the Student Name box along with the password for that student.
  7. Select the new class for that student that you just created, and select a profile for this student.
  8. Click "Create Student File" and that student has now been created!
  9. The next student from the list is automatically loaded up, the class should still be selected, and the profile should still be the same.
  10. Continue clicking "Create Student File" until no more students appear.
Now you should have your new class with all your students filled in with their names and passwords the same as the class before, but with no scores recorded for them.

At this point, you can return to the Class Manager and delete the old class if you haven't done so already.

To assign a created lesson to the class, you need to first create a lesson.  After the lesson is created and saved, you need to assign it by going into the Profile Manager.
  1. Open the Profile Manager.  Find the profile that your students use and click Edit Profile.  If your class has more than one profile in use, you will need to do this for all the profiles that are in use.
  2. Under tab "4 - Sections", you will see the drop down for Created Lessons on the right.
  3. Find your created lesson under the drop down.
  4. Assign a percentage to the lesson.  If you leave it at 0%, the students can still work on the lesson, but it won't count towards their grade (making it optional).
  5. Save the profile in the last tab.

That is it!  When the students log back in, they will be able to see the Created Lesson in their Create Lesson menu and work on it.
